Is 2x2 inches / 600x600px specific to the US?
Yes, this is the US passport and visa photo standard. Other countries have different size and background requirements - if you need a different country's passport photo size, check their government's official specification first.
Can I use any photo, or does it need a plain background?
Official passport photos require a plain white or off-white background and neutral expression - this tool resizes and crops to the correct dimensions but doesn't remove or replace the background, so start with a photo that already meets those requirements.
Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
No, all cropping and resizing happens locally in your browser using the Canvas API. Nothing is sent to a server.
