How it works

This tool sends your image to a free open-source vision-language AI model. Leave the prompt empty for a general caption, or ask a specific question, such as “what color is the car?” or “extract the text on the sign,” to get a targeted answer.

Frequently asked questions

What AI model powers this?

A free, open-source vision-language model hosted on OpenRouter. If one model is busy, the tool automatically retries with a backup model, so you rarely see a failure.

Can it read text in the image, not just describe it?

Yes, ask it something like “extract all visible text” or use the suggested prompt buttons. It handles both natural-language description and OCR-style text extraction in the same tool.

Is my image stored anywhere?

No. The image you submit is sent only to generate that one response and is not saved afterward.

Does it work with an image URL instead of uploading a file?

Yes, paste a direct link to an image (ending in .jpg, .png, etc.) instead of uploading, and it works exactly the same way.
