Does JPG trace as well as PNG?
JPGs are a lossy, photographic format, so they trace best when the image has fairly flat, distinct color regions, like a logo photographed on a plain background, rather than a busy photo full of gradients and fine detail. Heavy JPEG compression can also introduce small blocky artifacts that show up as extra noise in the traced paths. If that happens, switch Edge detail to Cleaner edges, it's tuned specifically to filter out that kind of compression and anti-aliasing noise, at the cost of a little fine detail.
What's the difference between the presets?
Posterized flattens the JPG into a small number of solid colors, which also helps smooth over compression artifacts, ideal for logos or simple photos. Detailed keeps more colors and finer paths for complex images. Curvy softens sharp corners into flowing curves. Try a couple and compare, the best preset depends on your source photo.
Can I upload other formats here too?
