What kind of images work best?

Simple, high-contrast images with flat colors, like logos, icons and line art, trace cleanly. Detailed photos can be traced too, but the result is an approximation made of shapes, not a perfect photographic vector, that's an inherent limit of any tracing algorithm, not just this tool.

What's the difference between the presets?

Posterized flattens the image into a small number of solid colors, ideal for logos. Detailed keeps more colors and finer paths, better for complex artwork. Curvy smooths out sharp corners into flowing curves. Try a couple and compare, the best preset depends on your source image.

Why did my output have tiny extra shapes around the edges?

Every raster image has soft, anti-aliased pixels along its edges, and a tracing algorithm can turn those into a ring of tiny speckle paths if left unchecked. The Edge detail control handles this: Balanced (the default) filters that noise out automatically, Fine detail keeps every last pixel of nuance (useful for intricate art, at the cost of some speckling), and Cleaner edges pushes the cleanup further, which helps most with JPEGs or noisy photos.

Is this AI-powered vectorization?

No, it uses a classic tracing algorithm (color quantization plus path fitting), not a neural network. That means fully predictable, offline results, though very complex photos may vectorize better with a dedicated AI vectorizer.

Is my image uploaded anywhere?

No, tracing happens entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server.
