Is this the same as removing EXIF data from a photo?
It's the equivalent for PDFs: this tool clears the document-info fields (title, author, etc.) stored in the PDF file itself, not photo metadata. Use the Remove EXIF Data tool for images.
Does this change the visible content of my PDF?
No, only the hidden document-properties fields are cleared. Every page's visible content stays exactly the same.
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No, metadata is read and removed entirely in your browser using pdf-lib. Nothing is sent anywhere.
