PDF Reader - View Online

Open any PDF right in your browser: scroll through it continuously like a real document, zoom in or out, find text anywhere in it, and select/copy text directly off the page.

Frequently asked questions

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?

No. The file is opened, rendered and searched entirely in your browser using pdf.js. Nothing is uploaded anywhere, which also means it works offline once the page has loaded.

How does the search feature work?

It extracts the plain text from every page (the same extraction the PDF to Text tool uses) and searches it for your query. Click any result to jump straight to that page. Very unusual PDFs whose text layer doesn't extract cleanly may search less accurately.

Can I select and copy text from the page?

Yes. Each page shows as a sharp image with an invisible text layer placed precisely on top of it, so you can click and drag over any text to select and copy it, exactly like a native PDF viewer - even though what you're looking at is a rendered image.

Can I open a very large PDF?

Yes. Pages render as they scroll near the visible area rather than all at once, and pages that scroll far out of view are unloaded again to keep memory use in check, so even long or image-heavy PDFs stay responsive.

Does zooming affect quality?

No, each zoom level re-renders visible pages at that resolution to fit your screen, so text and images stay sharp rather than getting blurry like a simple CSS zoom would.
