CSV to JSON Converter
Paste CSV data with a header row and get back a clean JSON array of objects, one per row, with the header row's values used as each field's key. The parser follows standard CSV quoting rules, so fields wrapped in double quotes can safely contain commas, newlines and escaped quotes rather than breaking on every comma. Since CSV has no native concept of types, every value in the resulting JSON comes out as a string - convert individual fields afterward if you need real numbers or booleans.

Frequently asked questions
Does my CSV need a header row?
Yes, the first row is treated as the column names and becomes the key for each field in the resulting JSON objects. If a column header is blank, it's automatically named column_1, column_2 and so on.
Can it handle quoted fields that contain commas?
Yes, fields wrapped in double quotes can safely contain commas, newlines and escaped quotes (""), the parser follows standard CSV quoting rules rather than naively splitting on every comma.
Are all the values converted to strings?
Yes, CSV has no native concept of types, everything is text, so numbers and booleans in the output JSON appear as quoted strings (like "30" rather than 30). If you need actual numbers or booleans, convert those fields after importing the JSON.
