Heuristic detection, not magic: blank lines, checkboxes and empty boxes are found automatically using pixel-pattern rules (no AI). It works well on typical printed forms but can miss a field or flag something that isn't one - always review the boxes below, and add/remove/resize as needed, before generating the final file.

How does it find the fields?

It looks for common visual patterns on the rendered page - horizontal underscore/line runs, empty rectangular boxes, and small checkbox-like squares. This is a heuristic, not a guarantee: always review the detected fields and adjust or add/remove boxes before downloading, since unusual form layouts can trip it up.

Does this work on a PDF that already has fillable fields?

This tool is meant for flat, scanned/image-based forms with no existing fields. If your PDF already has real AcroForm fields, use the PDF Form Filler tool instead.

Is my file uploaded anywhere?

No, detection and field creation both happen entirely in your browser.
