Frequently asked questions
Is this a real ATS (applicant tracking system)?
No. This is a simple keyword-overlap tool: it extracts frequent 1-2 word phrases from the job description and checks whether they appear in your resume. Real ATS software uses proprietary, often much more complex logic, and matching keywords here doesn't guarantee your resume will pass any specific system.
Does matching every keyword guarantee I'll get the job?
No, not at all. Keyword overlap is only one small signal among many an employer or system might consider. Use this as a quick sanity check for obviously missing terms, not as proof your resume is a good fit.
Why does it flag a word as missing when I used a synonym?
The matching is text-based, not meaning-based, so it won't recognize that "led a team" covers the same idea as "team leadership." Review the missing list yourself and decide which ones are actually worth adding in your own words.
Is my resume or the job description sent anywhere?
No. Everything runs entirely in your browser using plain JavaScript - nothing is uploaded to a server.
