Will the line-item table (quantity, price, total) stay aligned?
In Advanced mode, yes. The tool reads each piece of text's exact x/y position on the page and finds x-positions that repeat across several rows - that's a real column boundary. Line items sharing the same column pattern become one aligned table instead of a wall of run-together text.
Does this work for invoices with a header, line items, and a totals section?
Yes. Text outside the repeating line-item pattern - like the vendor header or a final totals block that doesn't share the same columns - is kept as separate text rather than forced into the line-item table, so the table itself stays clean.
What about scanned invoices (photos or scans with no text layer)?
This tool reads a PDF's existing text layer, so a scanned invoice with no extractable text won't produce results. For scanned or photographed invoices, use Bank Statement to Excel instead, which extracts transactions from an image using AI.
Is my invoice uploaded to a server?
No, this runs entirely in your browser using pdf.js to read text positions and ExcelJS to build the .xlsx file. Nothing is sent to a server.
