What's the difference between the Advanced, Visual and Text modes?
Advanced mode reads each page's real text positions and font sizes from the PDF and rebuilds them as genuine, selectable/editable PowerPoint text boxes placed where the text actually was, plus the page's embedded images placed where they appeared. Visual mode turns each PDF page into a single slide image, so it looks exactly like the original, but nothing on it is editable. Text mode extracts the text with no layout at all, dumping it into one text box per slide.
Does Advanced mode preserve everything exactly like the original?
No - it's an approximate layout reconstruction, not a pixel-perfect copy. Text is grouped into paragraph/line blocks by position, and only text plus embedded raster images are rebuilt; vector graphics such as shapes, rules or colored backgrounds aren't extracted, so pages built mostly from vector art will look sparse. It works best on text-heavy PDFs (reports, articles, exported documents). Use Visual mode when exact appearance matters more than editability.
Will fonts, colors and layout carry over in Text mode?
No, Text mode is a basic, text-only conversion with no positioning at all - it's meant for getting editable content out of a PDF, not for preserving how the original looked. Use Advanced mode for editable text that keeps the original layout, or Visual mode if appearance matters more than editability.
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No, this runs entirely in your browser using pdf.js, pdf-lib and pptxgenjs to read and rebuild the file. Nothing is sent to a server.
