When your photo shows a table with visible ruled lines, the tool detects those lines directly from the pixels and reads each cell individually, which keeps rows and columns aligned to the table's real grid instead of guessing from text spacing. If no reliable grid of lines is found (a borderless table, heavy skew, or poor lighting), it automatically falls back to reading the whole photo with AI instead - the page tells you which mode ran. Either way, always review the result before downloading - every header and cell is editable right on the page.
