How does this actually work?
It resizes the image down slightly and back up, then recompresses it as a JPEG at a different quality level than the original. That resampling and recompression is enough to disrupt many pixel-level steganographic watermarking techniques, which typically rely on very small, precise pixel-value patterns that don't survive lossy re-encoding.
Does it detect or identify the watermark first?
No. This tool doesn't read, decode or identify any specific watermarking scheme, it works blind, by disrupting the kind of pixel-level patterns those schemes typically rely on. It can't tell you whether an image was watermarked in the first place.
Will this remove a visible logo or text watermark?
No, a visible logo or text overlay is part of the actual image content, not a hidden pattern, so re-encoding won't remove it. This tool only targets invisible, steganographic-style watermarking.
Is this guaranteed to work?
No. Results aren't guaranteed against every possible watermarking technique, some are more robust to resampling and recompression than others. Treat this as a best-effort disruption tool, not a certified watermark removal service.
