What AI model generates the images?

Images are generated through Pollinations.ai, a free, open-source AI generation platform, using its default image model. It's a genuinely free service with no API key or account required, which also means quality, speed and availability can vary and aren't guaranteed the way a paid service like Midjourney or DALL-E would be. During busy periods, generation can take longer than usual or occasionally fail - if that happens, just try again.

Can generated images have mistakes, odd details, or bias?

Yes. Like any AI image model, it can render hands, text, faces or fine detail incorrectly, misunderstand parts of a prompt, and reflect biases present in its training data (for example, defaulting to certain demographics, styles or settings unless a prompt specifies otherwise). Treat results as a fast starting point, not a guaranteed accurate rendering of your prompt.

Can I use the generated images commercially?

Pollinations.ai's own terms don't spell out clear, specific ownership or commercial-licensing terms for images generated through its API - the project is open-source (MIT-licensed) and free to use, but it doesn't publish a detailed content license the way paid image generators do. If you plan to use an image commercially, review Pollinations' current terms yourself at pollinations.ai and treat unclear cases conservatively - for high-stakes commercial or resale use, a paid service with an explicit commercial license is the safer choice.

Is there a content filter?

Yes, requests are sent with strict content filtering enabled to reduce explicit or unsafe output, but no automated filter is perfect. Don't rely on it to always block content you wouldn't want to see.

What does the seed do?

The seed is the starting number the model uses to generate an image. The same prompt, size and seed together will reproduce the same (or a very similar) image, so you can note a seed down to recreate a result later, or hit "Generate a variation" to keep your prompt but get a new random seed and a different result.

What does the negative prompt do?

It tells the model what to avoid, like "blurry", "text", or "extra fingers" - it doesn't guarantee those things won't appear, but it steers the model away from them.

Are my prompts or images stored?

This site doesn't store your prompts or generated images after the request completes. Your prompt is sent to Pollinations.ai's public API to generate the image, the same as it would be if you called their API directly - see their site for how they handle request data.

Is this free, and is there a limit?

Yes, it's free with no sign-up and no image cap from this site. The underlying free API does apply its own light rate limiting to keep the service usable for everyone, so if you generate images back-to-back very quickly you may occasionally need to wait a few seconds and retry.
