How accurate is this?
It relies on an AI model reading the extracted text, which can misread an unusual date format, miss a date entirely, or guess the wrong year if one isn't stated. Always double-check every date against the original document before relying on it - this tool is meant to save you from re-reading the whole document by hand, not to replace reading the key sections yourself.
What goes into the .ics file?
Only the dates the AI could resolve to an exact calendar date (YYYY-MM-DD) become calendar events. Dates it found mentioned but couldn't pin down precisely are still listed on the page, but aren't included in the download.
Can I import the .ics file anywhere?
Yes, it's a standard .ics file that Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Outlook and most other calendar apps can import directly.
Does it work on scanned PDFs?
Only if the PDF already has a text layer. Purely image-only scanned PDFs have no extractable text - run them through the Add OCR Text Layer tool first, then use this tool on the result.
Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
Text is extracted from the PDF in your browser first. Only that plain text (not the file itself) is sent to a free AI model to find the dates, and it isn't stored afterward.
