Where do the default percentages come from?
They're reasonable, commonly-cited industry rule-of-thumb splits (venue & catering typically the largest single share, followed by photography/video, attire, decor and entertainment), not a survey of your specific market. Every wedding's priorities differ, use the sliders to reweight categories to match yours.
Can I change the category weights?
Yes, drag any category's slider to adjust its percentage. The dollar amounts recalculate instantly; if your percentages no longer add up to 100%, the tool tells you so you can rebalance.
What does "per guest" mean?
It's that category's dollar amount divided by your guest count, a quick way to see, for example, roughly how much of your catering budget is being spent per person.
