Does this prove the screenshots are authentic, or that they're admissible in court?
No. This tool only organizes and time-orders the images you provide into one readable, page-numbered PDF - it doesn't verify where a screenshot came from, whether it was edited, or anything else about authenticity. Whether a screenshot (or a PDF made from one) counts as admissible evidence, and what else you need to submit alongside it, varies by court, agency and country. Always follow your own court's or HR department's evidence rules, and talk to a lawyer or your HR contact if you're unsure - this is a formatting tool, not legal advice.
Which screenshot formats does timestamp detection actually work well on?
It's tuned for the timestamp styles you see in standard messaging and email screenshots: a plain time like "3:42 PM" or "14:32", "Today"/"Yesterday" plus a time, a full date like "Mar 4, 2026", and weekday names like "Monday" the way iMessage, WhatsApp, Instagram DMs, Gmail and generic Android messaging apps show them. It is not a general-purpose date parser and won't catch every possible layout or language - if it misses one, that image is never guessed into a random spot, it's clearly flagged and kept in upload order instead so you can move it manually.
What happens to an image where no timestamp is detected?
It's placed at the end of the sequence, in the order you originally added it, and is visibly flagged (both in the on-screen list and on the PDF's cover page and that image's own footer) as "Not detected - order not verified, verify manually". Nothing is ever silently guessed into a chronological position it wasn't actually confirmed for.
Can I fix the order myself if a timestamp was misread?
Yes - drag any row in the review list to move it (or use the up/down arrows), before you download. OCR occasionally misreads a character, especially a "1" as "l" or a "0" as "O", so it's worth a quick check of the final order against what you remember before building the PDF, particularly for anything flagged as not detected.
Is anything uploaded to a server?
No. The OCR (Tesseract.js), the timestamp detection, and the PDF assembly all run locally in your browser tab. Your screenshots never leave your device - which matters given this tool exists specifically for sensitive situations like HR complaints, landlord disputes, and personal legal matters.
What does the final PDF actually look like?
A cover/index page listing every image in its final order with its detected timestamp (or "Not detected"), followed by one full image per page. Every page is numbered continuously ("Page X of Y") so you can reference a specific page, and each image's page has its own footer noting that image's detected timestamp.
